Take Action

Steps to connect to the OneHealthPort HIE:

  • Step One - Register with the OneHealthPort HIE

Registration does not require a contract, this is an open opportunity for health care organizations to register in the Washington State Provider Directory (Entity Level) and share their host HIE designation and list transactions they are ready to send and receive.

  • Step Two- Sign the contract.

Execute the contract electronically or print, sign and fax.

  • Step Three - Attend a technical webcast

Sign up to attend a technical webcast, review the webcast slides or read the documentation on how to get connected to the HIE. This process takes less than an hour and is outlined in the Provisioning Guide

  • Step Four - Start Testing Transactions

Background: All participating organizations are required to test their sample data against the standard and correct to comply as needed. Once a new trading partner passes the standard they can invite trading partners to test with them before moving to production as a trading pair for one or more transactions. Trading partners approve each new trading partner and transction set based on tests in the test environment to minimize surprises at go-live.

    ePrescribing Canonical Guide
The HIE is focused on offering a local option for pharmacies and providers for new, refill and refill request prescription transactions. The HIE does not plan to offer Medication History, Drug Formulary or pharmacy benefit details. SureScripts is the current suggested clearinghouse for these ePrescribing related support transactions.

Continuity of Care Document (CCD) - Canonical Guide

The HIE is offering a standard mapping of the CCD transaction. Any organization contracted with the OneHealthPort HIE can test the CCD format and be certified to exchange CCD messages with trading partners on the HIE.

HL7 Canonical Guide (Lab, Rad, ADT)

The HIE has combined the more routine HL7 transaction components for Lab and Radiology results reporting with the ADT transaction as a single companion guide for HL7 implementations.

    Immunization - Canonical Guide

The HIE is offering reporting and requests for information from the Child Profile Washington State Immunization Registry. This is a bi-directional transaction set.

    Eligibility and Benefits Canonical Guide

Batch or real-time eligibility and benefit transactions from your Practice Management System, Hospital Information System, or other business or clinical system can reduce the staff web transactions or phone calls to confirm eligibility and benefits on patients you are planning to provide care. There are NO TRANSACTION fees from Payers answering eligibility queries direct via the OneHealthPort HIE.
